What herbal practitioners say about Burdock

Burdock is a good liver, blood and lymphatic cleanser and is very useful in the treatment of skin conditions, especially dry and scaly ones, as well as having beneficial effects on arthritis, rheumatism and gout.  It is a good detoxifier, eliminating toxins from the body.  It is very high in iron so strengthens the blood.  It stimulates digestion and can be used in the treatment of anorexia nervosa.  Burdock also has a hypoglycaemic action and may be helpful in the treatment of blood sugar levels for example in Type II diabetes.  Burdock combines well with Red Clover and Cleavers in the treatment of skin conditions.
